Welcome to my web site and thank you for your interest in my art.

After many years of painting and studying art I was instinctively drawn to the genre of gothic fantasy art. Creating a different reality and adding a little magic to the world became my passion. And isn’t that what art should do?

Some of the happiest times of my life were during my years in art school. It was an incredibly creative environment, which appealed to my sense of adventure. It exposed me to some of the most interesting people I have ever met and they continue to inspire my work to this day.

I’ve been very fortunate to have the opportunity to study art history in Europe. I was particularly inspired during my visits to the romantic gothic cathedrals of England and Ireland. I also had the chance to view the works of the masters including Vincent Van Gough, Salvador Dali and Gustav Klint.

My favorite fantasy artists include Amy Brown, Jessica Galbreth, Selina Fenech, James Brown, Josephine Wall and Stephanie Pui-Mun Law. I also draw my inspiration from Dante Rossetti and John W. Waterhouse.

My other interests include literature and film of the horror genre. I particularly enjoy the writing of Anne Rice, Stephen King and Brian Lumley - vampire fiction  has always been high on my list of favorites. I enjoy the movies of Tim Burton, Peter Jackson and Bazz Luhrmamn. This is a reflection of how I have always been drawn to the dark side of life and have always loved a good scare. As a child I adored horror movies, and as my sister recently reminded me, enjoyed playing in the graveyard near our school! That was in between dressing up as a vampire with my friends and experimenting with gothic photography.

My selection of colour is what makes my work distinctive. I particularly like high contrast and earth tones, juxtaposed against the various shades of red and blue. My art is for the masses and exists on the fringe of the mainstream. But hey, that’s where life is at its most interesting! If you agree, I’m sure you’ll enjoy my work.
